Municipal corporation in Sillod was facing huge electricity bills, despite the fact that city was not sufficiently lighted. Hona’ble minister Abdul Sattar taken steps for this and hona’ble chief minister Shree Pruthviraj Chavan granted 1 crore rupees for the said purpose. Under this specific scheme and granted fund, solar energy driven were installed by removing Sodium vapor lamps.
At the same time cremation grounds, mosques and temples were lighted as well. Cross roads are lighted with beautiful road lamps. Hymust of Rs 12 Lakh has been deployed in Abdul Shah nagar part of the city ‘Hari Masjid’ and ‘Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar’ statue area. The solar energy istallation has saved 75% of electricity and hence department is managed to save couple of lakhs. Every nook and corner of the city is lighted now.
